I don’t think this is an April Fool joke: 11 Year-Old Takes Over as School’s Network Admin

Actually, the only thing in this story that strains my credulity is this statement: “He has also started planning for an upgrade to Windows 2000 . . .” Windows 2000 would be a huge improvement over Windows 98, but where would you obtain it today?

The basic premise — that an 11-year-old could be qualified to serve as network admin — might be difficult for some people to believe. But I’m pretty sure Ben could have handled this job when he was 11. (I would never use the phrase “freak of nature” to describe him. “Statistical outlier” sounds much nicer.)
