I ended up picking up a copy of the issue of the Independent that we saw on Wednesday, the one with the crack pipe and the handgun labeled “Drugs come North, guns go South” (a phrase which, by the way, was repeated four or five times, for whatever reason) and read the cover article. Well, I read half of it and skimmed the rest.

The first half was typical anti-gun “Why are Americans so obsessed with murder”, “we’re a terrible and violent society”, “why can’t we just get rid of all the guns” sort of philosophical rambling. And then around where I stopped really reading was when the author began in on the whole Mexican drugs/guns thing and kicked it off with the 90% of Mexican guns are from American stores figure.

A pretty disgraceful hit piece, but who’s surprised?
