A Fox News article expresses opens with the following headline:


The headline is patently absurd, of course, because Weight Watchers isn’t in the business of approving or disapproving of any food. As anyone who has followed it knows, WW’s plan allows you to eat anything you want: it’s just the quantities that you have to control, depending on the nutritional content of the food.

But of course, this attitude is nothing new, and has only been encouraged by things like Morgan Spurlock’s dishonest film.

My favorite quote from the article, though, is this:

But nutritionists and obesity experts said the menu items are merely a marketing ploy to lure customers into the restaurant.

So … McDonald’s offers food because they want people to come to their restaurants and buy it? Shameful.
